I have been painting watercolors seriously since age 14. After high school art, the art education continued at Layton School of Art, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Milwaukee Area Tech College. Sales of my paintings have been to many private collections.
My full time vocation was a Milwaukee Police Officer, serving 32 years. After 22 years on the street, I was assigned to Special Services as a full time Department Artist-Photographer, where I designed pamphlets, brochures, insignias, speciality vehicles and squads, billboards, posters and many, many police and fire sponsored event t-shirts. At the same time, we ran a full service taxidermy studio in Milwaukee out of our home.
When we retired in 1995, my wife and I moved from Milwaukee to a new home on the Mississippi River in Buffalo City where we run a full time, full service taxidermy and art studio, complete with a large showroom. Living near Lake Michigan for 55 years was great, but there is nothing like the Mississippi River anywhere.
I want to depict the Mississippi and its wildlife. There is so much to paint here and watercolor is the perfect medium. A lifetime of doing watercolors on the River wouldn’t be long enough, but I am going to try.
